Some amazing statistics about You Tube - the world's largest video sharing site

You Tube is by far the world's largest video sharing website and yet it was founded only in 2005 by three ex-Pay Pal employees. It was bought out by Google late in 2006 for nearly $2 billion.


The very first video was called Me at the Zoo and it lasted just 19 seconds and was uploaded by one of the founders of the site.




The growth has been rapid and exponential ever since - 35 hours of new videos are uploaded every minute of the day and in 2007 the staggering figure was released that You Tube used as much bandwith  to view videos as the entire Internet traffic consumed in 2000.


What is the most popular video on You Tube - Charlie bit my finger - which to date has had a staggering nearly 300,000,000 views.  




Thanks You Tube for making what a lot of us feel is the best site on the web and without it it would not  be possible to have your business up and working and reaching out to your customers - 24 hours a day 7 days a week and 365 days of the year.
